Lokichogio is a border town in the arid north west of Kenya, whose principal role has been to serve as a route into what is now South Sudan. It lies on the main A1 road, which runs from Nairobi to Juba, and which the government has plans to upgrade. It also has its own airport.
We visited Lokichogio in March 2014 at the invitation of Kea & Birgitta Arnlund, who are working with MAF Sweden, and examined opportunities to develop low-tech light manufacturing activities and other business initiatives in Lokichogio.
